Bonobos

"Bonobos" is a short film adapted from its namesake story. It revolves around Maya and Siddharth, former lovers maintaining a platonic bond despite Maya's marriage to Vijay and their child. With Maya set to move to Finland with her family, she secretly visits Siddharth, leading to a pivotal moment.

Their intense love is evident, but Maya restrains herself due to her commitment to Vijay. Siddharth, overwhelmed by losing her, grapples emotionally. Amidst this tension, just as the possibility of physical intimacy looms, a visitor arrives - Vijay. Maya handles it casually, but Siddharth witnesses her departing with Vijay. The story's writer intervenes, citing societal expectations for the ending, despite his desire for a different outcome. He muses that with two bonobos as characters, the truth could have been portrayed.
