Synopsis

Karumban, a member of the Mavilan tribal community in Kerala's Kasaragod district, devoted his life to the ritualistic art of Theyyam, harboring one singular ambition: to ascend as the Chinkam, the revered chieftain of the Ooru, following in his father's footsteps. However, Karumban's aspirations remained unfulfilled, culminating tragically on his journey to Onkara, the Ascension.

His life takes a distressing turn when his daughter elopes with a deceitful city youth and meets a tragic fate. Moreover, Karumban's father, once the esteemed Chinkam, faces rejection by his own companions. These events cast a devastating shadow over Karumban's existence. Despite dedicating himself entirely to Theyyam (God), when he most needed support, the Theyyam failed to stand by him.

In this film, dialogues are spoken in the tribal language of 'Markodi,' a language without a script.
