Synopsis
Set against the lush yet volatile backdrop of rural Kerala, PDC (Pig is a Dangerous Creature) explores the increasingly tense and tragic conflict between humans and wild animals. The film opens with the all-too-familiar reality: wild animals—especially wild boars—invading human settlements, destroying crops, and occasionally causing injury or death. In response, villagers often retaliate by hunting these animals, despite strict wildlife protection laws.
Joseph, a timid and soft-spoken man, suddenly finds himself in legal trouble after posting online about consuming wild boar meat. His old school friends, convinced that Joseph lacks the guts to kill anything—let alone a wild boar—rally to prove his innocence. Their efforts highlight the absurdity of social media bravado and the grey zones in wildlife law enforcement.
As the forensic report clears Joseph, irony strikes—he is gravely injured in a road accident caused by a wild boar. Through a blend of satire and nostalgia, PDC paints a darkly comic yet poignant picture of the fragile relationship between man and nature. The film urges viewers to reflect on this escalating conflict and the urgent need for sustainable solutions before the balance tips irreversibly.
